So, to cut my teeth on the toolset, I started working on a module based on the old Ultima 5 storyline. I've loaded up a 2.5 minute video of the cutscene that introduces it. The outside area still needs some polish with respect to texturing, but the focus here was on the scripting.

I can't believe how much work that was, but I definitely feel like I learned a lot from it. Thanks again for all the information on this toolset, it helped a lot. |

For a first cutscene that is pretty good. You are right about the texturing and is it me, but the lightning sounds a bit wierd?
The interior cutscene was very good
Thanks for sharing....How long did it take you so far to do that? |

Yeah, I plan on polishing the area itself quite a bit, but I wanted to take a break from that scene and move on for a while and then come back to it. I'm sick of watching it for now.
I don't like the lightning sound either. It's basically the call lightning spell effect. I found some much better lightning sounds (something like "as_wt_thudercl[1-4]" and "as_wt_thuderds[1-4]"), but I could not get them to play in game. I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

I would say about 15-20 hours. It was my first time for a lot of stuff, including scripting, the visual effects editor, conversations, NPC companions, etc., so there was a lot to learn. Once I had the first cutscene done though, the next part only took a couple of hours. The first hill is steep, but after that, things definitely get better.
Thanks for the feedback. Please feel free to comment further on what kind of things would make the cutscene better. I warmly welcome constructive criticism! |

Huh, maybe try it again because I just did and it worked. It is free online storage so it may be a bit unreliable. |

Huh, try to right mouse click and "save as", or just paste in the link directly:

Rght click and save only wants to save a html file name "NWN2U5Intro.htm".
Paste the link directly does the same as above. |

Have you tried to cut and paste the link (http://www.myotherdrive.com/public/Jason1646/NWN2/NWN2U5Intro.wmv) into your browser? |

Kazgoroth helped me out with the video linking so I could get to see the cutscene.
It's very nice, especially for a first attempt Keep up the good work. |
